Saudi Arabia has introduced a new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for UK citizens. The scheme took effect on 1 July 2026. It allows British passport holders to enter the Kingdom multiple times within a year. Travellers can stay for up to 180 days, either in one visit or spread across several trips.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the launch. Officials described it as a reflection of the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and the UK. The move mirrors similar travel facilitation the UK already offers Saudi citizens.
The ETA is designed for short-term visits. It applies to three main purposes:
